The Power of Your Word

Everything is energy. Not just the physical stuff, but air, sound and even thoughts and emotions are energy. Even if the energy is not dense enough to hold it still carries some kind of weight, and that weight doesn't always have to be physical for it to be powerful.

Take words for example. Words are not physical and yet they carry a great deal of power. In the Four Agreements author Don Miguel Ruiz says, “the word is not just a sound or a written symbol. The word is a force; it is the power you have to express and ecomunicate, to think and thereby to create the events in your life.”

Your thoughts, your words, are the building blocks of your reality. Imagine if there were a computer program that could analyze your brain and make a collage of all the words you thought or spoke for an entire year. The more times the word was repeated, the larger it would appear in the collage.

What words do you think would be largest? What impact do think this has on your experience of your reality? The patterns of words you choose to focus on matter. Everything “real” in your life was once just an idea in your head, but eventually thoughts manifest into physical representations. The more you think about it, the more “real” it becomes. The more you speak about it, the more you attract it.

Think carefully about the words you choose to dwell upon. Start noticing the impact words have on your life. You may be surprised by what you discover about the power of your word.
